You're Growing When You're Uncomfortable
I think if you’re not wiping out at work every once in a while, you’re not trying hard enough.
This week, I was tasked to run with this new project and later assumed ownership of its launch. When we went live, the presentation was just.. not.. at all what I wanted it to be. It went south.
As we were rolling, I began to sink in my chair and reconsider all the other steps I should have taken to ensure a smoother rollout. There’s no point in backwards thinking.
Thankful for my mentor, who coached me on it afterwards and said, “this was fine, you know it happens, it’s a lesson learned.” A lesson learned, indeed.
You know, I felt kind of invigorated. There’s a sensation when you decide to try and fail and be on your toes for what’s next; to be uncomfortable.
