I'm kind of angry at myself for writing this review so late. This should have been the first book review I'd written here. It was the #1 book I recommended to everyone in 2016.

Linchpin: Are You Indispensable? by Seth Godin is a must-read for individuals who are on the fence about what to do next in their life. It forces you to realize your own distinct, intrinsic motivations - a critical step that lays the foundation on which you'll need to build upon.

It doesn't offer you a mind-blowing revelation on what the next step in your life is; instead, it's a kick in the shin about why you must do what you're good at, why you must create your art. He breaks down one of the most simple principles- the people who produce the best work, do it because they love it. Now, when you love your work, the work becomes personal, it becomes a gift.

A day’s work is your chance to do art, to create a gift, to do something that matters. As your work gets better and your art become more important, competition for your gifts increase and you’ll discover that you can be choosier about whom you give them to.
